About The Artist:

Kurtis Grimaldi was born in 1998 in Toronto, Ontario. His love for the arts began at a young age, spending time with his late grandmother, who was also an artist. Her home was filled with paintings, and it became a place of constant inspiration.

“One of my fondest childhood memories is spending summers with my grandmother. She taught me how to paint, and we would draw and create together. Whenever I visited, I was always excited to see what new artwork she had completed, often spending time walking through her home, taking in each piece. That is where my love for art truly began.”

That curiosity carried into everyday life—whether visiting friends’ homes or exploring new spaces, Kurtis was always drawn to the artwork on the walls, fascinated by its beauty and the stories it could tell. Through this, and through studying art in high school, his creative foundation continued to grow.

Kurtis’ passion for the arts extends beyond the visual. Growing up, he was involved in theatre productions before discovering dance. After high school, he pursued this passion in New York City, training in professional ballet. Following his time there, he earned a contract with Alberta Ballet of Canada, where he has performed for the past seven years….

After a family trip to Italy, where he experienced some of the world’s most renowned artwork firsthand, Kurtis gained a deeper appreciation for the role art plays—not only in storytelling, but in shaping culture and expressing faith. This experience further strengthened his connection to art and its meaning. He is deeply grateful to his parents for supporting his creative pursuits and for providing opportunities that have shaped his artistic journey, something he remains continually thankful for.

For Kurtis, art exists across many forms but shares a common purpose. Whether in a sketchbook or on stage, it creates connection, evokes emotion, and allows for a deeper form of expression. Art has the power to transport us, to help us feel, and to communicate what words often cannot.

Kurtis seeks to use his art to add beauty to the world, share his faith, and spread a message of hope. He is continually searching for new opportunities to grow as an artist and to be inspired.

“I believe we were all created with a divine need to create—the earth without art is just ‘eh.’”
